About the film:
Olfa, a determined matriarch, keeps a tight grip on her two youngest daughters. After two of Olfa’s four daughters disappear, professional actors are brought in to fill the void they left behind, allowing the family to explore the traumas they have experienced. The film offers insight into transgenerational traumas and shows how the cycle of pain and loss can be broken. What makes the film even more remarkable are the charismatic and resilient women who, through laughter and tears, demonstrate their inner strength. Through humor, play, and tears, Olfa’s Daughters is a celebration of life and the close bonds between mother and daughter.
