About the film:

Ahmed and Isra’a are expecting their fourth child, but instead of joy, they face financial worries worsened by the ongoing war in Yemen. Ahmed has lost his job in the TV industry and struggles to make ends meet as a driver in a country gripped by economic crisis. They simply cannot afford another child, but in deeply religious Yemen, it is difficult to find a doctor willing to perform an abortion. The Burdened is an intimate story about the challenges families face during war.
